Hello ODE community! My name is Mishael, and I’m currently based in Kenya. I’m passionate about contributing to open-source projects that help make the world a little more efficient and connected.
I currently work and contribute to the education sector, where I work with different open-source LMS platforms and tools to improve the learning experience for students, educators, and communities. I strongly believe that knowledge is power, and I enjoy being part of projects that create meaningful impact — just like ODE. Outside of tech, I’m a huge fan of musical instruments, language learning, and exploring new ideas from different cultures and communities

Emil here - one of the people behind ODE 
ODE grew from a simple belief: organizations should be in full control of their own data, workflows, and infrastructure and build on technology that is transparent, extensible, interoperable, ethical, and designed to last.
Quickly this evolved into a genuinely supportive open-source community with a remarkably talented group of developers and contributors, all sharing a curiosity for building thoughtful, durable systems while continuously learning in a rapidly changing software world (looking at you Claude!)
Outside of ODE, I enjoy nerding over espresso, Linux, and scuba diving with perhaps slightly over-optimized hogarthian DIR gear setups.
I’d love to discuss architecture (software or otherwise), AI assisted development, OSS teams, governance, field workflows, sync edge-cases, developer experience, open-source sustainability, or whatever interesting things people here are building around ODE.
Looking forward to meeting everyone

Hey everyone! I’m Tisha Patience Malongo, based in Entebbe, Uganda
I’m a junior software and AI engineer studying Software and AI Engineering at Turing College, and I’m also part of the Groundbreaker × Spiro Academy IoT & Embedded Systems programme , working through hardware fundamentals, microcontroller programming with Arduino and MicroPython, connectivity protocols, and cloud integration for IoT systems.
On the software side I build with Python and Django, and I’m currently exploring how LLMs can be used to build practical, accessible tools including a project around AI-assisted reading support for students with dyslexia.
Outside of tech I play rugby and love photography I’ve worked as a photographer and content assistant, so I have a strong eye for storytelling, which crosses over into how I think about building products people actually use.
What brought me here is a genuine interest in open data and how it can power meaningful solutions, particularly in African contexts. IoT and open data feel like a natural intersection smart agriculture, health monitoring, environmental sensing all areas where Uganda has real opportunity. Glad to be here.
